Light Shine

FAQs
When should I expect a response from the church?
The church will need time to determine where to best use your contribution. Though it would be preferable to have one person in charge of a response to the contributor, the reality is that it may be after a meeting of a benevolence committee, which usually meets monthly.

How can I be sure my contribution will actually go toward helping those in need at Christmas?
The central theme of Lightshine is Christmas community outreach. An element of trust is involved that those within each church in the lord's service will make the proper decision concerning the distribution of your contribution.

May I contribute at other times besides Christmas?
Yes. Hard times befall those who are less fortunate year round.

May I contact a church?
The pastors of these churches have said they certainly don't mind being contacted. However, to avoid the Lightshine program becoming a burden on a church, frequent contact is discouraged.

Does any of my money go to Lightshine?
No. Lightshine is simply an idea that allows you to give directly to those most in need. Also, the churches pay nothing to Lightshine. The churches only requirement for being on this site is an obligation to tell you, in the way you specify, how you helped another person.
